How It Works

How the program works

Six steps, from company funding to completed professional training.

1

Company funding is allocated

Family Protection and Recreation LLC allocates company funds to support approved participants under current Guardian Fund guidelines.

2

Applicants request assistance

Applicants provide the information needed to determine eligibility and identify an appropriate training opportunity.

3

Applications are reviewed

Awards are based on program eligibility, available funding, location, and participating-provider availability.

4

Approved participants are matched with training

The program coordinates with qualified participating instructors and training facilities.

5

Approved costs are paid

Approved costs are paid directly to participating training providers or other approved vendors according to current Guardian Fund guidelines. Participants do not receive cash.

6

Participants complete professional training

Participants receive instruction focused on responsible handling, safety, storage, and lawful self-defense principles.

The FPR Guardian Fund exists to expand access to professional firearm safety and self-defense training for eligible single mothers, seniors, and veterans when cost is a barrier. Approved program support is coordinated through qualified participating training providers.

The program does not sell or provide firearms and does not fund the acquisition of firearms, ammunition, firearm parts, magazines, suppressors, or equipment intended to increase a firearm's firing capability. It does not issue participants cash, unrestricted retail credits, or purchase vouchers. Approved support may include professional instruction, range fees, personal protective equipment, secure-storage costs, and other training-related expenses expressly permitted by current written program guidelines. Approved costs are paid directly to participating providers or approved vendors.
